About

Hello! I'm Laura, a UX Designer residing in Portland, OR. As a designer, I love all aspects of the design process but am especially excited about conducting user research and establishing scalable design systems.

My educational background is in Studio Art and Art History taught me how to conduct research, have a strong attention to detail, ideate, and create designs that are visually captivating. After graduating, I gained experience working in customer-facing roles at arts organizations such as the Oregon Symphony and Portland Japanese Garden. However, although I loved working in mission-driven organizations, I wanted to tackle more complex problems, which led me to UX design.

I began my UX journey at the end of 2020 by enrolling in General Assembly's UX Immersive Bootcamp. Since completing the program, I have worked with several start-ups such as Tegger, a product that allows users to gain rewards for sharing their data, and JETSWEAT, a platform that allows users to stream fitness classes. Since January of 2023, I have been volunteering with Code for PDX on the PASS project, which is a tool that allows housing-insecure individuals to safely upload and store important documents.

Outside of UX, you can find me learning to play the piano, trying new recipes, and going on hikes around the Pacific Northwest.
